Our latest update (version 3.0.0) now includes functionality allowing government authorities to use Urpla’s software to receive, assess and decide development applications! Once government implementation is rolled out, you will benefit from an end-to-end platform for development application preparation and assessment. We are now assisting local governments (nationally and internationally) with their digital transformation, so watch this space for more news.
We have added to the ways in which you can manage and view your applications. All of your applications can now be viewed in the application dashboard. Track your applications through the various stages of the application process, from preparation to decision and beyond. Once an application is lodged with an on-boarded government authority, the application status will update on the dashboard as the application progresses through the assessment stages.
The Payment step has been removed. This is because we have changed our fee model so you no longer pay for each application. The cost of your organisation’s monthly subscription remains unchanged, but it now also covers the cost of preparing applications.
New application types
You may notice the next time you create an application that you can select different applications types, which now include applications for preliminary approvals and variation requests.
You can create memos now! Use memos to record notes about specific application and assessment matters. The memos will not be published in the application material, as they are intended for your organisation’s internal use and record-keeping.
Projects and Shared folders
Projects and Shared folders have moved. They are now located on the application dashboard, in the top right corner. They can still be accessed via the following URL's:
You can now add additional Category of development and assessment tables that sit outside of the local planning instrument at the Categories step (eg. where an existing preliminary approval relates to the development approval). Use the 'Add' button in the left navigation pane to add to the list and select the relevant level of assessment on the right pane.
You can now add additional Codes for assessment against your proposal. Use the drop-down menu to select from a full list of the local planning instrument's codes.
You can now report on the Regional Plan and Preliminary approval if applicable in two new headings at the Reporting step. Find the new sections located in Reporting > Other assessment > Local & State.
We have made some changes to the way we capture proposal details. Key proposal details (land use, height, density, lot size, etc.) captured at the Proposal step are locked at the Reporting step. To make any changes to these key proposal details, you are now required to amend them at the Proposal step. Take advantage of the Modify button available for these key proposal details for quick access to make the changes.
There has also been further enhancements to the way Urpla captures proposal details over multiple zones/precincts and local plans/precincts. This level of detail is now reflected in the proposal details section of the Reporting step.
Various other enhancements have been made to Urpla's software, including:
- Updates to the automated level of assessment calculation that now differentiates between local and state;
- Removal of 'Skip' buttons throughout the app;
- Uploaded owner's consent and supporting material at the Owner's consent step are now visible at the Supporting documents within the Reporting step;
- Application type, development type, and land use/s have been added to the proposal details section at the Reporting step; and
- Part 4: Specialist reports at the Supporting documents within the Reporting stephave been updated to 'Part 4: Specialist information and other'.
