How to complete the Reporting - Codes step

1. When you reach the Codes section of the Reporting step, you are required to answer the codes that you selected as 'Relevant & included in Planning Report' at the Codes (Applicant) step.

All codes that are applicable to your development application will be listed within the codes section of the Reporting step. Only the codes you deemed 'Relevant & included in Planning Report' will show the assessment criteria

2. The local and state assessment criteria are separated into the following:

  • Zone,

  • Overlay,

  • Land Use,

  • Other, and

  • SDAP

3. Working top to bottom on the left navigation panel, select your first code listed e.g. Zone.

4. Use the drop-down arrow to view your first PO/AO.

5. Read the first criteria and answer the question "How does the proposal meet the code?".

Use the response library, located at every discussion text box, to help answer how the proposal meets the code. To learn more about response library, view How do I use the Response Library?.

6. Select from the options available on the bottom navigation panel, Complies with AO1, Complies with PO1, Not applicable or Not compliant

Complies with PO: If you do not meet the AO, and require assessment against the Performance Solution, you may want to discuss further within the report. Check the box "Check this to discuss this performance outcome in detail in the report?", a new heading will be added under 'Alternate solutions complying with performance outcomes' in this code's discussion section so you can discuss it further.

Not compliant: If you do not meet the PO, and require assessment against the code purpose and overall outcome, you may want to discuss further within the report. A new heading will be added under 'Assessment against code purpose/overall outcomes' in this codes discussion section so you can discuss further.

7. Once you have selected your answer you may wish you discuss it further in the text box below. The text written in this discussion text box will produce within the code templates, which will append to Part 2: Supporting documents.

8. Once you Mark Complete you will automatically be taken to the next assessment criteria below.

9. Continue this process until you complete all the assessment criteria of the code.

Why am I seeing multiple of the same assessment benchmark?

Assessment benchmarks may be duplicated as they may deal with various subjects e.g. stormwater & environment.

This separation allows your subject matter experts to complete a comprehensive assessment against their own benchmark/task! Learn more about collaboration by reading Applicant Collaboration.

How to complete the Purpose & Alt. solutions discussion

Use the drop-down arrow located next to the code name to view the Purpose & Alt. solutions.

Alternate solutions complying with Performance outcomes

While completing the codes assessment criteria you identified that you would like to discuss the performance outcome in further detail, each assessment criteria will automatically populate as a heading within the 'Alternate solutions complying with Performance outcomes' discussion.

1. Select the first alternate solution heading in the list.

Select the view code feature located above the subject heading to roll down the assessment criteria of which you are assessing OR select the view code feature located in the top right corner to view the whole code.

2. Discuss in the text box provided why the proposal does not comply with the acceptable outcome, and how the solution satisfies the performance solution.
