How do I generate an Action Notice and Confirmation Notice?
When an application is lodged by the applicant it is required that the application go through Validation by the Authority, to be considered properly made.
How to validate the application

1. Select your assigned application in the Validating status or an unassigned application within the Awaiting assignment status from the Applications dashboard.
2. At the Location (Authority) step review the applications site details, applicable planning, overlay, and mapping triggers, maps, resources and proposal details and Save & Proceed.
3. Review the applicant's category of assessment at the Categories (Authority) step. Work left to right, top to bottom, selecting the item from the left pane, reviewing the legislation in the middle pane and answering the council assessment questions, and marking the item Complete on the right pane. Once all items are completed, select Save & Proceed.

4. Review the state and federal matters applicable to the proposal and the applicant's response at the State & Federal (Authority) step. Work left to right, top to bottom, selecting the item from the left pane, reviewing the legislation in the middle pane. In the right pane, review the applicant's answer, answer the council assessment questions and mark the item Complete. Once all items are completed, select Save & Proceed.
5. At the Forms & Admin (Authority) step review the forms and other ancillary documents in the left pane. Answer the Council assessment questions in the right pane and mark the item Complete, and select Save & Proceed.
6. No action is required at the Codes (Authority) and Reporting (Authority) steps under this status. These steps provide you with further context on the development application.
Admin, Assessment managers and Collaborators can review the application details in the Codes (Authority) steo and Reporting (Authority) step for context and add Notes to come back to them when the application is in Information request status or Evaluation status.
7. If you have identified any items as 'More information required', they will list as Action notice items at the Action/Confirmation Notice (Authority) step. Review the Action notice items and upload any supporting documents if required (e.g. payment notice) and select Save & Proceed.
OR If you have identified all items as 'Support', you will be prompted to issue the Confirmation notice and will be required to answer questions regarding the validation of the application at the Action/Confirmation Notice (Authority) step. Answer the questions and upload any supporting material to the notice and select Save & Proceed.
Review the uploads attached in Supporting documents at the Action/Confirmation Notice step. Documents uploaded while issuing an action notice will not be automatically removed when you issue the Confirmation notice.
To remove a supporting document, select the 'Remove' button next to the supporting document you want to remove.
8. If you have identified any items as 'More information required', the app will know to generate an Action notice document at the Publish (Authority) step. Select Generate Preview to generate the Action notice.
OR If you have identified all items as 'Support', a Confirmation notice will be generated into a document at the Publish (Authority)step. Select Generate Preview to generate the Confirmation notice.
9. Once you have reviewed the documents, select Publish and the document will be sent to the Applicant. The Application Status will automatically be updated.
Access the documents at any time! All documents, once published, get added to the Documents feature list in the top toolbar.
Only certain user roles can validate (create action/confirmation notices). See Authority Roles & Permissions or check with your organisations administrator to know what permissions are enabled.
How to validate a paper-based application

1. On the Applications dashboard select New in the top right corner.
2. Review the applicant's submitted material
3. At the Location (Authority) step, search the property by entering the address or Lot and plan number into the search bar in the top left corner. Basic property details will be returned (when selecting multiple properties they will list underneath each other). Enter the applicant and owner details into the applicable fields and select Save & Proceed.
4. At the Proposal (Authority) (Paper-based & Enquiries only) step, enter the key proposal details, use the buttons in the top left to navigate between development types and select Save & Proceed.
5. Review the local matters applicable to the proposal at the Categories (Authority) step. Work left to right, top to bottom, selecting the item from the left pane, reviewing the legislation in the middle pane. In the right pane, enter the applicant's answer, answer the council assessment questions and mark the item Complete. Once all items are completed, select Save & Proceed.
6. Review the state and federal matters applicable to the proposal at the State & Federal (Authority) step. Work left to right, top to bottom, selecting the item from the left pane, reviewing the legislation in the middle pane. In the right pane, enter the applicant's answer, answer the council assessment questions and mark the item Complete. Once all items are completed, Save & Proceed.
7. At the Forms & Admin (Authority) step review the applicant's submitted forms and other ancillary documents. Answer the Council assessment questions in the right pane and mark the item Complete, and select Save & Proceed.
8. No action is required at the Codes (Authority) and Reporting (Authority) steps under this status. These steps provide you with further context on the development application.
9. If you have identified any items as 'More information required', they will list as an Action notice item at the Action/Confirmation Notice (Authority) step. Review the Action notice items and select Save & Proceed.
10. If you have identified all items as 'Support', the app will prompt you to answer some questions regarding the validation of the application at the Action/Confirmation Notice (Authority) step. Answer the questions and select Save & Proceed.
11. If you have identified any items as 'More information required', the app will know to generate an Action notice document at the Publish (Authority) step. Select Generate Preview to generate the Action notice.
12. If you have identified all items as 'Support', a Confirmation notice will be generated into a document at the Publish (Authority) step. Select Generate Preview to generate the Confirmation notice.
13. Once you have reviewed the documents, download the PDF and send the document to the applicant via email.
14. Once the email has been sent, Select Publish and the application status will automatically be updated.
