Support

Use the ‘Support’ button if:

  • application material is satisfactory (ie. no further action required)

  • the development does comply with an assessment benchmark

    • PO/AO’s, Code purpose and overall outcomes

  • Other assessment

    • Strategic framework, TLPI, LGIP, Prelim approval,

    • SPP matters, Regional plan, other state matters

    • Other relvant matters

Support button means supporting the development complies with the benchmark. It doesn't necessarily mean you support the applicant’s justification.

Proposal & context information

  • Proposal

    • Details, Summary

  • Context

    • Site summary, site/surrounds details, current approvals or applications, pre-lodgemnt, other background

  • Report overview

    • Executive summary, conclusion

  • Supporting documents

Support button means supporting that no further information is required on the matter. It does not mean you are supporting the applicant's justification/uploaded material.

Using the 'Support' button and inserting text into the discussion box will automatically generate a:

  • Key assessment item

Discussion regarding compliance with benchmarks (including assessment criteria, LGIP etc.) will be inserted into the Assessment report in a section titled ‘Key Aspects of Assessment’. Read How do I generate an Assessment Report?.

The discussion text box can be used for supported items where you want to record your reasons/justification for supporting something (this is not a requirement).

Assessment Items will automatically have a corresponding heading added to the document.

More information required

Use the 'More information required' button if:

  • application material requires further action (ie. the application is missing a form)

  • an assessment item needs further clarification/explanation/evidence before the item can be supported.  

Using the ‘More information required’ button and inserting text into the discussion box will automatically generate:

  • Action notice items

  • Information request items

  • Further advice items

Discussion of these items will be inserted into the Action notice, Information request or Further advice, subject to the status of the application (ie. Action notice items populate the Action notice only during Validation status).

Recommendation

Use the ‘Recommendation’ button if:

  • the application doesn't comply with an assessment benchmark

When selecting 'Recommendation' three extra buttons appear:

  • Support’ – use this if the proposal doesn’t comply but you want to recommend it be approved without change despite the non-compliance – the discussion/text becomes a ‘Recommendation’ in the Assessment report (could bring in other relevant matters).

  • ‘Change’ – use this if the proposal doesn’t comply but you want to recommend it be approved subject to a change – text becomes the Recommendation and prompts a condition to be included in the Decision notice. Read How do I generate a Decision Notice?.

  • Refusal’ – use this if the proposal doesn’t comply and you want to recommend refusal – text becomes the Recommendation.
